Case 1: The ART Launch & Transformation
The Challenge: A complex Industry program was struggling with disconnected teams, missed dependencies, and a “feature factory” mindset. They needed to launch their first Agile Release Train (ART), but the culture was still rooted in silos and top-down mandates, making the prospect of a two-day PI Planning event feel overwhelming and risky.
The Action: I acted as the Scrum Master/ Agile Coach, guiding the leadership and 40+ practitioners through the “Train Readiness” process. I facilitated the inaugural PI Planning event, moving beyond the logistics to focus on Alignment and Shared Vision. I implemented “Community of Practice” sessions to support the cultural shift, ensuring that the new SAFe ceremonies felt like a benefit to the teams, not a burden.
The Cultural Result: The ART launched successfully with 100% alignment on the first Increment’s objectives. We shifted the culture from “Siloed Output” to “Program Outcomes,” resulting in a 35% improvement in predictability. Most importantly, the organization moved from executive-led direction to decentralized decision-making, empowering the teams to own their roadmap and their results.
